Nation Station

Nation RER Station

The new station NATION must be the symbol of its time. The project therefore asserts a resolutely contemporary stance that respects and enhances the heritage of the place.

Here the first gesture of the study will be the first gesture of the site : deploy the various layers that have accumulated in the station to find, under the tinsel, the architectural accuracy of the place, intact.

The platform space retains its fluidity and incorporates a new colorimetric signage - connecting the past to the future, the “Nation Red” to the “RATP Blue” - which unfolds along the sidewalks. The signage is supported by the innovative lighting of the station illustrated by the drawing of two light axes along the platform noses, which provide continuous lighting on all tracks.

So, the station, a hybrid project between heritage and contemporaneity, between archeology and engineering, between concrete and steel, between necessity and adhocism, between voice and light, between points and lines, between red and blue, between black and white, becomes a dynamic space, combined from a multiplicity of centres and developed by successive echoes of forms and volumes; a space which superimposes, splits or redoubles its elements, multiplies details, mixes sensations, to create in the strongest sense a medium encompassing Man and thereby removing him from the role of a simple traveler.
