Carmes Madeleine

Carmes Madeleine

The site is at the crossroads of multiple architectural, landscape and urban situations. The volumetry seeks to address these unique situations, but also to architecturally reunite the notion of interiority.

This done by creaing a protective envelope around the perimeter, south, east and west facades, the creation of loggias to the south and the reconstitution of the "millstone" wall to the east with very measured openings to protect the privacy. In the center we propose a more open facade enlivened by the distribution gallery.

This passageway will support "domestic" planting, as each resident will be able to place planted "pots" on it, enriching this happy hybridization of neighborhood life. In this way, it's an opportunity for "citizen" initiative.

We believe we can "anchor" architectural meaning in this context through the material, and the pleasure of living in an architecture that is solid, but also modern.
