CONTEXT IS OUR MODERNITY | Clément Blanchet | Lecture at Euromed University of Fez

Location: Euromed University of Fez, Morocco

Clément Blanchet was invited by the School of Architecture, Design and Urban Planning (EMADU) at Euromed University of Fez, Morocco, to deliver a lecture entitled ‘Our Context Is Our Modernity: Architecture, Climate and Transformation’.

The lecture explored the relationship between architecture, climate and territorial heritage, examining how existing conditions can become active resources for architectural thought and transformation.

Through this perspective, Clément Blanchet addressed the importance of designing with the climate, the built environment and the inherited characteristics of a territory, questioning how architecture can respond to contemporary challenges through adaptation rather than replacement.

The encounter provided an opportunity for dialogue with students and the academic community, encouraging a critical reflection on architectural practice and the potential of the existing environment as a foundation for new forms of design.
