ARCHITECTURE AND SEDUCTION | Clément Blanchet & Gilles Lipovetsky | Biennale dello Stretto

Location: Biennale dello Stretto, Italy

On 19 September 2026, Clément Blanchet and French philosopher and sociologist Gilles Lipovetsky came together at the Biennale dello Stretto for Architecture and Seduction, a dialogue exploring the relationship between architecture, philosophy and the transformations of contemporary society.

Conceived as an encounter between architectural practice and philosophical thought, the discussion examined how acceleration, hyper-consumption, individualisation and the unprecedented circulation of images are reshaping the way architecture is imagined, experienced and perceived.

Bringing together Gilles Lipovetsky’s analysis of contemporary society and Clément Blanchet’s architectural practice, the dialogue questioned architecture’s capacity to respond to the homogenisation of taste, the scarcity of attention and the changing nature of desire.

Beyond the conference, Architecture and Seduction marked the beginning of a broader investigation into the role of architecture in a rapidly transforming society, exploring how architectural form can engage with cultural, social and technological change.
